In April 18, 2015in Shymkent under the “Leader for people living with HIV” project, implemented by the Central Asian Association of People Living with HIV, with the financial support of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) was held a training on people living with HIV rights protection.
The trainers of the training were: Indira Otzhanova, the President of ALE “Regional Association of people living with HIV,” Liliya Kurbatova, the Head of PF “Board of representatives of the community of PLHIV in Kazakhstan” and Bolatbek Turgunbaev, the President of the Association of AIDS Service Organizations “Zholdas.”
During the training, participants were introduced to the concepts of “stigma”, “discrimination”, “Self-stigma” with laws, codes, covenants and legislation protecting the rights of people living with HIV as well as pursue the opportunities at different levels in society.
